    Our History

    1966 - William C. Coonrod invented the first corrosion resistant fiberglass molded grating panel in his Dallas, Texas, garage and Fibergrate was founded.

    1966-1972 - Fibergrate expanded its product line to include FRP gratings in several configurations, stair treads, railings, grating legs, and other structural products for use in corrosive environments. Fibergrate then branched out into the fabrication field to design, engineering and assemblies.

    1972 - Fibergrate moved the manufacturing facility to Stephenville, Texas, and retained corporate offices in Addison, Texas.

    1986 - Fibergrate was sold to its employees.

    1995 - Chemgrate Incorporated was purchased and added to the Fibergrate line of products.

    1996 - Fibergrate was acquired by RPM International Inc.

    2000 – Fibergrate becomes a division of StonCor Group Canada.

    2008 - Fibergrate opens its first manufacturing facility in Querétaro, Mexico.

    2010 - Fibergrate’s 40,000 square foot Design & Innovation Centre opens in Oshawa, Ontario and combines dedicated design and drafting teams, project managers, and skilled fabricators.

    Today and Beyond - Under RPM, as a wholly owned subsidiary, Fibergrate continues to grow and expand into new markets with innovative products and diverse applications.

    In addition to Fibergrate and Chemgrate molded grating, Fibergrate Composite Structures has established many other recognizable industry brands. These brands include Safe-T-Span® pultruded grating, Dynaform® structural shapes, and Dynarail railing and ladder systems. In addition to manufacturing a full line of proven products, Fibergrate also provides value-added services for its products including design, drafting, fabrication and installation.
